GOOD VIBES ONLY

Two, creative teenage girls living in the big city - what could go wrong? Good Vibes Only follows Kitty and Lynn as they live their lives but get into a lot of trouble in the process. The bright colours of the intro sequence align with the show's colour palette that reflect themes of adolescence and fun. The main inspiration for this motion graphic was the intro sequence from Broad City. With its patterns, design and colour stacking. I gave this intro sequence my own spin while taking direction from the producer and creative director of this pilot. Throughout the creative process, the producer sent me stills from the raw footage that served as reference visuals for the characters and set location. These stills, along with my rough and finalized sketches, helped me achieve a final piece that satisfied the Good Vibes Only production team.

Geneva worked on an opening credits sequence for Good Vibes Only and absolutely killed it. There was never any worry about communication because she always made sure to update us with new information to make sure she was in track with the timeline. She also brought our vision to life by incorporating the show’s elements and colours with her unique perspective.

The Backgrounds

One of the big design elements of this intro sequence was the patterned backgrounds. I wanted to have really vibrant backgrounds for each scene to help add some additional movement and visual interest.
